Coach Dustin Goodwin begins his first season as the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director of Russellville High School. He comes to Russellville from Thompson High School where he served as Offensive Assistant and Wide Receivers Coach, contributing to their Class 7A State Championship in 2022 and 7A State Runner-up season in 2023. 

Prior to that, Goodwin spent four years as Head Football Coach at Chelsea High School, leading the team to state playoff appearances in 2019 and 2021 in 6A Region 5.

From 2015 to 2017, he served as the Head Football Coach at Plainview High School reaching the 3A state playoffs all three years and finishing the 2017 season as 3A Region 7 Champions. In 2017 Coach Goodwin was named the 3A Coach of the Year by the Alabama Football Coaches Association. 

In 2014, Coach Goodwin served as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Hueytown High School. This followed his tenure at Homewood High School, where he served as Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coordinator from 2011 to 2013. Homewood won back-to-back 5A Region 4 Championships in 2012 and 2013. 

Coach Goodwin began his coaching career at Russellville High School where he served as the Quarterbacks Coach from 2008 to 2010. During Goodwin’s tenure at Russellville, the Golden Tigers finished as 5A State Runner-up in 2008 and 2009. 

Coach Goodwin played quarterback at both the high school and collegiate levels. He graduated from Demopolis High School where he received All-State honors in both football and baseball. He went to Auburn University where he was a member of the undefeated 2004 Auburn University football team. He graduated from The University of North Alabama where he finished his collegiate career as part of the 2006 Gulf South Conference Championship football team. Coach Goodwin holds a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from The University of West Alabama and BS degree from The University of North Alabama in Physical Education.

He is married to Sara K. Goodwin who serves as a school counselor at Russellville Middle School and Russellville Elementary School. They have been married for 17 years and have four sons, Whit (15), Colt (13), Grant (10) & Jett (7).

Dylan Seabolt
RMS Head Football Coach and Athletic Director

Coach Seabolt is entering his fifth year of coaching and first year as the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Russellville Middle School. Prior to joining Russellville Middle School, he coached at Chelsea High School from 2019-2022, serving as the defensive pass game coordinator and safeties coach in both the 6A and 7A classifications for the hornets. 

Coach Seabolt received his Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2023 while serving in the United States Army National Guard from 2018-2024. Coach Seabolt is a 2018 graduate of Chelsea High School where he was a two-year varsity starter, permanent team captain, defensive back of the year and 2017 Shelby County honorable mention.
